L. Michelle Gay

Michelle Gay is the Director of Community Health Education at the Mecklenburg Council on Adolescent Pregnancy. She received the 2001 Young Adult Leadership Award given by the Women's Forum of NC, Inc., for her outstanding leadership in improving the lives of young people in our state. In addition, she was a 2002 participant of the European Study Tour sponsored by Advocates for Youth to study adolescent sexuality in the Netherlands, Germany, and France. Michelle received her Bachelors of Science in Health Promotion from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She is actively involved with adolescents from Charlotte-Mecklenberg Schools, local neighborhood organizations, and the faith community. Michelle believes that youth have the Right to health education, deserve Respect as assets in our community, and have the Responsibility to make healthy choices.
