Marcella Cook

Marcella Cook, also known as Cookie, has been recognized as the Outstanding Secondary Teacher of the Year. She has retired from her position as the Charlotte Mecklenburg teacher assigned to Discovery Place where she taught 5th and 8th grade lessons in the Family Living, Ethical Behavior, and Human Sexuality Curriculum. She received her Master's degree in Human Development and Learning with an Emphasis in Health Education from UNC Charlotte. She is a member of NCAHPERD and ASCD. Marcella finds that youth appreciate information concerning their health and that "Health Education touches the future."
