Voluntary Health Agencies

The School Health Training Center has planned advocacy training for the staff and volunteers of several voluntary health agencies. In 1999 "Building Support for School Health" was provided to the American Cancer Society and The NC Medical Society Foundation. In 2000 a similar workshop was provided for the American Heart Association.

On the planning committee for the advocacy workshop with the American Cancer Society are: Terri Mitchell, Bob Frye, Alison Lavin, Mary Jane Bruton, Tammy Robbins, and Carole Miller.

The Planning Committee for "Building Support for Cardiovascular Health Promotion in Local Schools" included: Donna Breitenstein, Lynette Rivenbark, Alison Lavin, Kymm Ballard, Anne Barnes, and Terri Mitchell.
