Healthy Schools

The NCSHTC works closely with the NC Department of Health and Human Services and the Department Public Instruction, in particular the Infrastructure Council for Healthy Schools and Senior Advisors. Promoting collaboration and communication between public health and public schools is the goal. The Training Center provides workshops to assist public schools with the Healthy Active Children policy recommended by the State Board of Education. Health Education is most effective if offered within an eight-component model of coordinated school health programs.
